Collection of your personal information

At VITALAS site we ask you to provide personal information, such as your e-mail address, name, work address, or telephone number. This information will be used to establish a user account and to communicate with you for getting your feedback in a product survey.

Accessing your Personal Information

You have the ability to view or edit your personal information online by clicking “My profile -> My Account” in VITALAS top menu.

Security of your Personal Information

VITALAS uses a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access. A password is used to help protect your account and personal information.

It is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always log out before leaving the site to protect access to your information from subsequent users.

Usage tracking

VITALAS logs some information about user’s interaction including:

  • Date and time of most recent successful authentication
  • Queries submitted to the search engine
  • Opening the zoom-view or the detail window of a result item
  • Opening the Advanced Visualization view
  • Clicking on a concept or a keyword
  • Adding or removing a result item to/from a light box

This information does not reveal the name of individual users. Logs are analyzed to evaluate the performance of the system and its contents, with the objective of improving system performance, usability and available functionalities. Apart from the recorded information mentioned above, no personal information will be used.

Use of Cookies

"cookies" are used to enable you to sign in to our system and to help personalize your online experience. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server and that can later be read by the server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to use those interactive features that depend on cookies.
